Crompton greaves manufacture the following power electronic equipment for use on 25 kv ac broad gauge electric locomotive with 3 phase ac drive.

• Power converter to feed power to 3-phase traction motors.

• Auxiliary converter to feed power to the auxiliary machines of loco.

• Control electronic equipment for electronic controls of locomotives.

• Crompton greaves has also successfully developed and supplied static inverters - 25 kva rating to feed 3 phase power to roof mounted ac package unit used in the air conditioned coaches. The inverter converts 110 v dc input from alternators / battery power to 415 v ac 3-ph 50 hz.
