This is ideally suitable for on the spot metal identification/sorter as an ndt tool. The instrument comprises an optical unit and the power source. One can easily place the optical Unit, on any component big or small and generate an arc. Then the spectrum generated by the arc with element characteristic can be analysed visually for the presence as well for its percentage estimation of particular alloying element.
