Metatech provides insitu metallography kits for microstructure preparation and replication as non-destructive inspection tool of large job/components for the remaining life assessment, high temperature fatigue, corrosion and welds inspection, etc. Application areas include power generation, fertilizer, petrochemical, aerospace, defence, chemical plants, foundries, forge shops, steel plants, heavy engineering companies, automobile, steel, oil & gas, off-shore structures, chemical processing industries, etc.These kits consist mainly four components, portable grinder with right angle or 45-degree holder, portable electropolisher with digital display, portable lightweight incident light microscope with battery backup and replication kits. The grinder is exceedingly in small size with good torque for taking care of initial rust and scale removal. Electropolisher is with minimum switches, with all control consoles by touch membrane keys countering tough site conditions. The microscope can be associated with 35 mm camera/polaroid camera. Insitu technology has various other applications, like for study of microstrucatures, localized corrosion, high temperature oxidation and hot corrosion, large/bulky jobs and their critical areas, cracks on the structures, pipes, pressure vessels, dies, pressure parts and for the purpose of residual life/structural integrity assessment and life extension strategies, original design modifications, maintenance and safety.
