International combustion [india] manufactures spiraling belt elevators that move bulk solids continuously through horizontal and vertical stretches with no points of transfer. Motor speed, material feed, and straight belt run are monitored by safety devices. The elevators are fed horizontally by a continuous conveyor. In the area of transfer, any fine material particles adhering to the belt drop into a scraper conveyor and are fed back as spillage to the main flow by a circuit conveyor. The vertical handling section consists of the rubber belt with corrugated sidewalls and fights. This vertical section of the elevator can be slewed in the direction of discharge. Slewing through 135°c to either side is possible while moving. A control unit ensures accurate positioning of the belt to the selected point of discharge. The material is discharged from the upper horizontal section. The spiraling belt elevators can be used wherever fine-to-coarse-grained bulk solids require to be handled, horizontally and vertically, in a very confined space.
