It automatically switches the composite port of multiplexer to a secondary link on a failure of the primary link. It constantly monitors the primary link status and fall back to primary link as soon as this link is restored. The automatic switching can be disabled and the traffic can be forced on to a specified link. It has built-in audible alarm to alert regarding the failure of either primary link or secondary link. It has facility to reset or disable the audible alarm.
