Centerprise has launched torque multipliers manufactured by plarad, germany. These torque multipliers employ the concept of multiplication of the input torque [set on a ratcheting torque wrench according to desired output torque] to achieve the desired output torque. The use of a torque multiplier results in use of least force/effort to achieve the desired output, thus eliminating the use of a long torque wrench and more than one person to do the job. As these torque multipliers require no external energy and setup time, they are very versatile and can be used anywhere. The torque multipliers has high quality special steels that make them light weight and compact compared to other makes.
Some of the salient features are
- its gears employed in the multipliers are machined to exact tolerances which guarantees maximum possible accuracy;
- built-in protection mechanism [shear pin system], due to which the gear system does not break in case more than specified input torque is applied by mistake;
- a unique anti-reverse mechanism prevents float back of the fastener being tightened leading to maximum accuracy; and,
- can be used for tightening as well as loosening applications. Plarad torque multipliers are available for torque from 220 nm to 8600 nm.
