Proximon controls provides capacitive proximity sensors. These capacitive proximity sensors are designed to detect, and react to any object, which moves into the operating zone. These proximity sensors consists of an oscillator. The capacitance of this oscillator is linked with the sensing face and when any object moves into the operating zone; its capacitance activates the oscillator. The sensors can detect conductive as well as non-conductive material. It is advisable to have an object with permittivity more than one. The conductive objects are generally to be earthed for better results. Some of the salient technical specifications of capacitive proximity sensors includes: chrome plated brass housing with 2 locknuts; dimensions of m30 x 1.5 x 70 mm length; supply voltage of 10 to 30 v dc; output transistor pnp or npn; output logic no or nc; reverse polarity protection provided; status indication thro` led; and range adjustment thro` potentiometer.
