Universal tool has introduced indexable burnishing pad reamer. These are manufactured for very high precision hole requirements in modern engineering industries. It offers very high super finishing of holes associated with very controlled tolerance. Conventional reamers in carbide brazed or hss do not provide super-finishing with precision contour of the hole. These reamers are solution for this problem. The special reamer with indexable blades is beneficial due to following :
- bore tolerance h6, h7, h8 or h9;
- bore surface finish down to 2 to 3 mm [16 to 25 micro inch];
- roundness and parallelism 2 to 3 mm [0.00004 + 0.00012 inch];
- tolerance held over a long period; and,
- indexable blade easily replaced/re-set.
The reamers are manufactured from 12 mm up to 70 mm o with more taper shank or with weldon shank of morse taper / iso 40, iso 50 taper for cnc like petermann, cantipillar, etc, or according to requirements. The indexable blade is replaceable. This is supplied with specially selected carbide with micro fine grade, cnc ground and highly lapped. Carbide grades are provided depending upon application. Cutting edge blades are equipped with special carbide grades. Burnishing pads are equipped with special carbide offering very high wear and super finishing in the hole.
