Kadimi international supplies wxs solid carbide end mills from osg corporation, japan, for ultra hard machining of materials with 45-70 hrc hardness. Wxs coating is a new coating developed to meet the requirements of high speed milling of hardened steel. These wxs endmills allow milling of 65 hrc material at 60,000 rpm. The wxs solid carbide end mills are able to oxidize at over 1,300 ºc compared to tiain, which can oxidizes at about 875ºc. This unique feature allows machining at much higher sfm meaning higher rpm with wxs coating. In turn, higher rpm means higher feed rates thus reducing cycle times. The wxs coatings in the wxs solid carbide end mills has a coefficient of friction of 0.3 compared to tiain with 0.8 coefficient friction giving wxs coated tools more lubricity. Better lubricity allows for extended tool life and superior surface finishes, but to benefit from this greater lubricity, this new coating must be run at higher rpm. Osg has also introduced a range of deep feed endmills even for machining harder materials. The company supplies these solid carbide end mills in square & ballnose standard sizes for rib processing.
