The performance and pollution level of a diesel engine depends to a great extent on the correct and accurate setting of its fuel injection pump. However, accurate and speedy testing and setting of injection pump is possible only with a test bench which has adequate drive, power; high torque, good even running characteristics, exact speed control and ease of operation. Indian machine tools manufactures precision fuel injection pump test bench. Components of the test bench: the bench consists of a heavy-duty bi-directional motor with a dual pulley for transmitting power through v-belts to a hydraulic/variator transmission/belt/ac frequency converter; and a gear pump for test oil supply and high pressure phasing with independent motor. Specifications of the precision fuel injection pump test bench: heavy duty transmission permits rapid and infinitely variable speed control from zero to maximum speed. Maximum torque is available even at low speeds. Two test speed range 50- 900 and 170- 3300 rpm can be set. A backlash free flexible coupling is fixed on to the flywheel which facilitates the connection of the fuel injection pump that is to be tested. The important task of precise stroke counting is performed by an electronic/rpm-stroke counter. An electronic digital display indicator is provided to test oil temperature.
