Diligent protector series is customised for protection & control of the motorised process. It safe guards the process by tripping the motor when its current deviates beyond the acceptable limit due to problems in the process. This prevents catastrophic failure and saves consequential loss of production and cost of repairs; the former is very important in today`s business culture. Loss of production not only means direct loss of revenue but it also loss of good will due to failure to keep the delivery commitments.
Diligent protectors are available for ac or dc motor driven loads. In case of ac motorized loads the process is monitored for various malfunctions such as loss of one supply phase i.E. Single phasing fault, phase reversal, over load and under load. The load current signature of the normal motor changes during operation due to many factors; such as dynamic unbalance, loose foundation, excessive vibrations, starving for lubrications, change of process load, jamming due to external intervention, etc. We have grouped the processes according to the response evoked against over load fault. The groups are instantaneous protection, time-delayed protection and jam protection. Instantaneous over load protection trips the load immediately as soon as the load current crosses the preset limit. Time delayed over load. Protection trips the load only when current drawn stays above the preset limit longer than the set time. Jam overload protection allows normal start up but trips immediately if current exceeds during operation. Jam protectors are unique solution for protecting high inertia loads such as blower & fans for which conventional thermal relay is totally misfit.
Diligent protectors are fully solid state and work on 230 v +/-10% and provides one potential free contact rated for 4 amps [resistive] at 230 v ac. Time proven components are used with judicious safety margin to realize high precision and repeatability of operation. This ensures long trouble free operation in the field. The precision of operation is so well that these protectors have also been used for control of the process. These protectors are available in 1 ph and 3 ph versions. Standard models are available up to 10 amps current. For higher rating, standard protector of either 1 amp or 5 amps is used along with appropriate current transformers.
Diligent protectors are also available for dc loads; such as dc motors, dc magnets, electroplating plants, cathodic protection, etc. These are also manufactured to meet specific requirement of the problem.
Diligent protectors are also available for switching off the load supply on under load condition i.E. When its current drops below the set limit. Typical applications are ball mill grinder, lifting electro magnets, etc.
Diligent protectors can be tailored with combination of two or more protections such as current operated single phasing, voltage operated single phasing, revetse phase sequence. Diligent protector has unique `status & fault` display which points to the fault on which the load was switched of even after the load turns off. This is very useful feature during commissioning and fault diagnosis and saves maintenance time. Once the protector trips, it can be reset either manually or automatically selectively for individual fault.
