Resistoflex has introduced super-shock absorbing mats for forging hammers. The mats use a composite synthetic rubber reinforced and fabric pad. Synthetic neoprene rubber gives fungus and mildew resistance and high oil resistance to the mats. It has high shock damping characteristics with damping constant 0.41. It has ratio of amplitudes of 1.6 to 1, which is about 4 times that of natural rubber and 100 times that of steel. This high damping value makes sure that the mat between successive blows of the hammer absorbs the entire shock. The breakdown compressive strength is 10 times the normal functioning stress that ensures long life.
