Zwick offers bonsai, a shortened variant of its testing machine series zwicki. This is a low-cost variant for applications with a maximum working area of 573 mm [without fittings]. Apart from that, it does not differ in any way from other zwicki versions. Tle bonsai-zwicki is ideally used in laboratories for compression and flexure tests with small strokes of up to maximum 346 mm. Its functionality and design makes it a typical paper and universal hardness testing machine. The universal hardness hu can be determined for all materials by one test method. The hardness of the different materials from rubber to ceramics and glass is thus directly comparable. The universal hardness attachment can be used with the bonsai zwicki or any zwick universal testing machine. With additional accessories, other hardness scales like rockwell, rockwell-superficial, etc, can be measured.
