Bodies are made from special alloy steel and taper jaw holes are precision boared and reamed. Sleeve jaws and gear rings are hardened and ground to lengthen the life of the chuck. Components such as set of jaws and nut which are exposed to wear are hardened to maintain accuarcy and extend chuck life.
