Malik engineers manufactures twin screw compounding unit for preparation of pvc compounds and polymer blends, master batches, etc. The machine physical construction comprises of a twin-screw extruder with co-rotating twin screws; specially designed helical gearbox with integral thrust bearings and dc drive; auger feeder which controls the material feed to the extruder; specially designed die adaptor for converging the output from two screws; and pelletising die, water tank, pelletiser and controls. The screws and barrel are made in segments so that the l/d ratio and geometry suit the particular application requirement. The screws are self-wiping which permits easy cleaning while changing colours . A de-volatisation zone for degassing the feedstock is provided to remove gases and moisture from the melted compound. High input torque combined with high rotational speed for screws provided very high output with smaller screw diameters. The extruder being of twin-screw type, the compound quality is superior even at high production rates and the flexibility in screw geometry makes it versatile for side range of polymers. The machine is offered in screw sizes of 28 mm, 50 mm and 65 mm with corresponding output rate of 20 kg, 80 kg and 200 kg/ hour respectively.
