Thane-based das precision machine tools pvt ltd has introduced automatic spring end grinding machines. These are available in two different versions with different grinding cycles. Model seg-3 normally comes in crush grinding cycle type. Springs of bigger wire sizes can be ground better with down feed cycle. It also provides higher production with minimum handling of the springs. Model seg-12 is available with either crush grinding cycle or down feed grinding cycle. The two dressing spindles [one for each grinding wheel] are placed on ball bearing and thrust bearings. Due to this the life of the dresser is increased multifold. The changeover of the dresser disc can be completed easily and quickly. A special attachment is provided for replacing wheels that makes it easy for a single operator to do the change. The grinding wheels are screwed on to the back plates, to save time and labour during replacement. The electrical system is of reliable material, and all operations are carried out using a plc. Using a slip ring in the drive, reverse rotation on the loading plate is prevented. This preventss accidents, and protects the springs from damages. The supporting plates below the loading plate are case hardened and are given with slots to adjust their position with respect to the bottom-grinding wheel. This helps in compensating for any unevenness in the diameter of the grinding wheels. The other models available are seg-1 and seg-12.It has following technical specifications:
