The equipment is image acquisition system with proprietary software. The image acquisition system allows putting the ball pot directly under a ccd camera with ball pot holder. The camera lens is so placed that it directly focuses on the wear scar.
The scar view is captured and displayed on the computer monitor. The system consists of image capturing system, view card, illumination system, view acquiring and processing software for display on your pc screen. The system has capability to measure linear distance across any two points on the image in micrometers. An ellipse tool is provided to measure major axis and minor axis and automatic computation of mean diameter. Facility also exists in software for curve fitting and finding out wear scar area.
