Kubo chemicals has introduced abrasive low density plastic media that allows fine finishes to be imparted on metal and plastic components, which had so far been impossible without surface impingement or work hardening of the surface. It eliminates costly hand polishing and gives surfaces ready for electro plating, anodizing or painting. It is suitable for deburring, deflashing, radiusing, polishing and surface improvement of all metals and plastics. Plastic media will not chip or fracture and generally retains it configuration throughout its life, thus increasing its economy of use. Various grades, shapes, and sizes of plastic media come to suit individual components and applications. The most commonly used shapes being cones and tetrahedrons. These are available with several grades such as kh grade for fast cutting and fast removal of heavy burrs; km grade for normal deburring and surface improvement; and kl grade for super fine finishing where surface improvement is more important than stock removal.
