Industries syndicate supplies an electronic braking system. It works on 3-phase ac supply,, 415 v, 50 hz squirrel cage induction motors running normally. Generally switching off supply to the motor would not stop the motor instantly because of inherent inertia of the motor shaft and the driven load. To stop it quickly a special braking system is to be applied through dc injection after main ac supply is switched off. The unit has an adjustable means for both braking torque and braking time.Its principle of operation is as follows: being a solid-state device involving scrs at the main current supply device for dc with an array of ics and other discreet semiconductors, capacitors and resistors. The device is simple and can be used for squirrel cage induction motor involving direct starting or star-delta starting or auto transformer starting.
