Deublin co, usa, manufactures rotating unions particularly conceived to solve high wear problems experienced in the continuous casting machines. The latest series of unions includes only silicon carbide seals that are permanently inserted into stainless steel carriers to provide resistance to ruthless and abrasive environments. A structural integrity is provided to the seals by the seal carriers to enable them to endure shock loads and vibrations due to unruly process conditions like water hammering. The unions are completely redesigned to provide space for a long sleeved bearing that offers full support to the stainless steel rotor and helps it to run smoothly. A carbon filled teflon static thrust washer bears the entire media thrust load. The rotating unions are available in mono-flow and duo-flow versions for media inlet or outlet respectively.
