Forbes Marshall which is an ISO 9001 certified company that offers Ultrasonic Flowmeters. The Ultrasonic Flowmeters operate on the Time-of-Flight or Transit Time principle. The Ultrasonic Flowmeters use sound waves to accurately measure flow, particularly for non-conducting liquids like hydrocarbons and difficult applications like molten sulphur, bitumen, pitch and tar. They are especially suited to large bore pipelines and their accuracy is unaffected by changes in conductivity, density or viscosity. For process applications there is the Fullbore type model UFM 3030 with sizes from 25mm to 3000mm. A clamp-on type in portable and fixed versions is also available for pipe diameters up to 5000 mm. For custody transfer applications the Fullbore type model Altosonic V in sizes from 100 mm to 1000 mm gives an accuracy of +/- 0.15% with requisite Custody Transfer Approval certification. This model is suitable for viscosities up to 400 cP [with up to 800 cP as special version].
