Jay Steel Corporation supplies Titanium. Jay Steel Corporation provides a range of Nickel and Nickel alloys, Stainless Steels, etc. Titanium comes as Titanium Grade 1, Titanium Grade 2, Titanium Grade 5, Titanium Grade 7 and Titanium Grade 5 ELI.
Titanium Grades 1 and 2 and 7 are supplied with very good weld ability. They include substantially single-phase material and the microstructure of the alpha phase is not affected greatly by thermal treatments or welding temperatures. The mechanical properties of a correctly welded joint are equal to, or exceed those of the parent metal and show good ductility. Titanium Grades 1 and 2 and 7 are used in compressor blades, discs and rings for jet engineers, aircraft components, pressure vessels, rocket engine cases, offshore pressure vessels.
Titanium Grade 5: It is a two-phase microstructure of alpha-beta titanium alloys that responds to thermal treatment. The temperatures encountered during the welding cycle can affect the material being welded.
Titanium Grade 5 ELI [Extra Low Interstitial]: It has annealing temperature 700-785 degree C. It has lower impurity limits, especially oxygen and iron. Alpha-Beta Alloy is used when direct contact with tissue or bone is required. Ti-6AI-4V`s poor shear strength makes it undesirable for bone screws or plates. It has poor surface wear properties and tends to seize when in sliding contact with itself and other metals. Surface treatments are done including nitriding and oxidizing.
