It is constructed as a monolith base and vertical bed fabricated out of sheet steel of 12 mm thick stress relieved and filled with concrete. A gearless headstock is fitted with two cartridges for mounting the spindle. The tailstock is fixed to the base o the machine in line with the head stock spindle axis. An eight station bi directional turret is fitted to the machine. The x and z axis are fitted with 30 mm dia ground thread ball screws and pre loaded double nuts, having practically zero backlash. The cnc system fitted to the machine is the state-of-the-art siemens 802d cnc controller. The system is equipped with 10.4" tft flat screen, integrated plc and controls digital drives and ac servomotors. The machine is compact yet rigid and requires a floor space of 2700 x 1300 mm only, including space for hydraulic power pack, coolant tank and chip tray. The design of the machine, particularly the space under the cutting area slanting towards the chip tray guides the chips roil off easily making the chip conveyor unnecessary. The machine with all the above advanced features comes with standard accessories of: hydraulic hollow chuck and cylinder; coolant pump and fittings; chip tray; revolving centre for tail stock; work light; 4 boring bar holders for turret; and 2 foot switches for chuck and tail stock.
