Theta controls has introduced variable speed dc drives, thyristor. These are designed for applications requiring high torque at low speed, or constant torque at all speeds. These drives incorporate armature and tacho feedback, electronic current limiting, field failure protection, and soft-start as standard features. Preset potentiometers are given for adjustment of soft-start slope, maximum speed, current limit, tacho feedback gain, speed meter range, current stability, and ir compensation. The drives come from 1 hp to 100 hp as open chassis units for oem/retrofit applications, or as complete panels and turnkey systems, complete with instrument, plcs, acquisition systems, and/or scada systems. Special controls can also be included, eg, multi-axis speed/length/position controls; multi-axis speed ratio controls; tension regulation, etc.
