Switzer instrument offers flexicap k-5730 level meter, a micro controller-based, versatile rf capacitance type instrument for liquids, slurries and bulk solid applications, with many customer-friendly features. The sensing probe excited with an rf signal, produces a change in capacitance when the material level changes, resulting in a change in frequency, which is converted to an accurate level reading for measurement and control. The most important feature is full calibration with a level change of only 5 per cent of span, without completely emptying or filling up the vessel. Besides 4-20 ma and 1-5 v dc outputs, four relays with differential adjustment are available. Five relay sequences programmed in the instrument, facilitate independent or group operation of the relays to meet a variety of alarms and controls. A tactile keypad and eight-character alphanumeric lcd display, provide for easy calibration, modification of measuring units, relay operation and delay time. An rs-232c serial port enables remote programming through a pc and saving the programmed data in the pc. A 20-segment bar graph and a three-digit lcd display indicate the level. Leos are provided for indicating the status of power and relays. Sensing probes suitable for general purpose, aggressive chemicals and hygienic service applications are available.
