The pineapple peels are fed manually [with fruit side up] in the feed tray, and are picked up by a spiked rotating drum. A gang of stainless steel knives gives the peels a deep cut, and guides them to the v-shaped stripping knives, which can be adjusted to the required cutting depth. The top v-shaped stripping knife separates the superficial meat [fruit chunks and pieces which can be used as crushed pineapple], while the bottom v-shaped knife strips the remaining fruit [used for making juice] after stripping, the peels pass over a grating which dislodges them from the spikes, and fall through the opening provided below.
