Shanta Engineering manufactures VST or HDT Apparatus. The Vicat Softening temperature or VST conforms to ASTM D1525 specifications. It helps in determination of the temperature at which a standard indenter penetrates 1mm into the surface of a plastics test specimen under one of the loads specified under uniform rate of heating. Its rise of temperature is 50 + 50 degree centigrade per hour 120 ±120 degree centigrade.
HDT or Deflection temperature of plastic under flexural load conforms to ASTM D-648 standards. It helps in determination of temperature at which an arbitrary deformation occurs, when plastics are subjected to arbitrary bending loads and conditions of continually rising temperature. Its rate of rise of temperature is 2 ±0.2 degree centigrade per minute.
