Rm applied engineers manufactures a range of flexible expansion joints and metallic bellows, made as per ejma standards. Axial expansion joints is the simplest form of expansion bellows joint, mounted to absorb movement along the axis of the pipe. These joints rely on the pipe work for guidance and restraint. They can be fitted with guide bars as an added precaution against anchor or guide failure. They may have sleeves to reduce internal turbulence or to give external protection. An expansion joint is designed in a manner so that there is pressure on the outer surface of the bellows. These are multiple stainless steel bellows which are assembled in such a manner that the line pressure is external to the bellows. This permits stabilisation of the bellows unit which can be used for high pressure and longer movements. As with other axial joints, properly designed guides are of crucial importance to the proper functioning of these expansion joints. Other types of joints are angular joints which include: hinged units, gimbal joints, lateral joints, pressure balance joints.
