Klas engineering produces a variety of cold forged steel parts. Cold forging is a versatile phenomenon which includes extrusion, ironing, upsetting, coining, etc. Billets, cut to required size, after chemical treatment and lubrication are formed to the required shapes. Advantages of the product includes: material savings, reduction in secondary operations, improved mechanical properties, integrated assemblies and excellent surface finish, besides use of cheaper materials. Also unlike hot forging, tolerances comparable to turning can be achieved with cold forging. Special designs which cannot be achieved by any otherway are also cheaply produced. Parts suitable for cold forging include: stepped and tapered parts, thin or thick walls, flanges, open or closed ends, conical, flat or hemispherical ends, parts without taper, webbed parts, internal/external splines, grooves, ribs, etc.
