Product Profile of Nucleonic Thickness Gauging System

Jasch industries offers a nucleonic measurement system for highly accurate online non-contact measurement of web thickness or basis weight. Nucleonic measurement systems are useful in industry for controlling the thickness, basis weight or coating of the flat products. The basic system consists of a nuclear source and a radiation detector for location on opposite sides of the flat product. Radiation from the source is absorbed by the moving product in precise proportion of its basis weight. In a simplest system the resulting signal from the detector is amplified and linearized for display in terms of engineering units such as grams/square metre [gsm] or microns. Features: non-contact measurement of product thickness or basis weight; substantial savings in raw material with improved product quality; fast payback on investment; stationary or traversing sensor; noise immune measuring sensor provides high accuracy and long term stability; output signal for automatic control of measured thickness/basis weight; rs-485 serial port for further peripheral equipment; and, air gap temperature compensation.
