Single Base Rural Automatic Exchanges are the basic building block of C-DOT DSS. It is capable of intra-module switching and has its own resources for tones, MF/DTMF signalling, announcement and line testing. Single Base Rural Automatic Exchanges can be used as a stand-alone switch with the full complement of software including administration functions. This switch housed in a single cabinet can serve 512 terminations, without concentration, lines or trunks, analogue or digital in a fully non-blocking mode. Additional cabinets consisting of lines only can be used for concentration of subscriber line traffic. This configuration can serve up to 1400 lines and 128 trunks [analogue & digital].
