Electro-arts manufactures safety guards for various types of power presses and similar machines to avoid accidents. These power presses function on the infrared principles and sophisticated electronic techniques by forming an invisible parallel beam curtain between the operator and machine. Any obstruction, hand or a part of body cutting these rays is detected and a signal is given for further preventive operation. In case of pneumatic or hydraulic machines, it is linked with the emergency switch. It stops downcoming ram so as to save the operator. In case of mechanical rolling key type presses, the output can be used to lock the paddle, so that the ram should not be released from tdc, as long as the hand is in the danger area. Paddle can be pressed only after removing the hand. The unit works on 220 v ac supply and offers relay output for further interlocks. It is available for covering heights up to 1,000 mm and the distance between transmitter and receiver can be offered up to 5,000 mm. It can be used with various types of power presses, press brakes, deep drawing presses, bending and shearing machines, injection moulding machines, furnaces, and in any dangerous area.
