Ecs has created a line of converters called the ecs spindrive that includes fully digital drives and asynchronous induction motors. The spindrive line includes drives with braking energy recovery by resistor [asdd series, advanced spindle digital drive] or by 400 v power supply [arsd series, advanced regenerating spindle drive]. Its available power range is between 5 kw and 51 kw, in s1, allowing it fulfil a wide range of applications, both in the machine tool field [spindle] and in general automation. The fully digital drives use smt technology; this means that they have compact and highly reliable electrical groups. Features: stand-alone configuration [with integral power supply]; three models available [25-37-50 a continuous rms per phase]; direct connection to the mains [three-phase 400v 50/60 hz]; pre-loading circuit [internal] for the bus dc capacitors; protection against short-circuit to earth and between phases, against under voltage, over voltage and overheating; fully-digital regulation circuits with vectorial control; speed or torque control; full-duplex rs-485 serial communication line; removable customisation module containing motor and application data; programmable logic/analogue i/o; integral programming keyboard/display; incremental encoder simulation [optional]; and definition of a wide range of parameters, using the integral programming keyboard/display or suitable sw to the pc/cnc.
