Asn industries` universal dividing head type asn udh-100 is a precision accessory for millign machine facilitating variety of tool room work. This dividing head can used along with various machines like milling, drilling, grinding and inspection. This dividing head finds its applications in: tool manufacture, gears, splines, polygonal components, drills, milling cutters, hobbings cutters, end mills, reamers, jigs, and fixtures etc. Some of the hardware features of this dividing head include: universal dividing head is compact in design, rigid in construction and made out of close grained heavy duty cast iron. Minimum wear is ensured by the phosphor bronze worm. There is a provision for holding components, either between centres or with three jaws chuck as well as on the mandrels [straight or taper mt-3]. For mounting back plate, the spindle nose is threaded to receive the chuck. The threads are protected by knurled cap while operating without chuck. The spindle is mounted on precision ball bearings and is locked in position after each indexing opertion before machining [except when performing helical flute milling, can milling] which reduces the machining loads on worm pair. The spindle axis can be titled 10º below horizontal 100º above horizontal plane. Direct indexing: a jig bored index plate with 24 holes facilitates dividing of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24 stations. Please note that during direct indexing the worm and the worm wheel should remain disengaged. Indirect indexing: indirect indexing is through worm and worm wheel [transmission ratio 1:40] by using index plate [4 per set]. Division of all integers from 1 to 400 except prime number can be obtained. Differential indexing: by connecting the change gears between spindle [horizontal proposition only] and differential gear shaft at the bottom, the divisions up to 400 can be obtained [including the divisions which cannot be obtained by indirect indexing method].
