Speech Conversion & Junction Equipment is used wherever the two-wire exchange subscriber wants to have an access to control way station for conversation. If the control office is in the non-electrified portion and extends into an electrified section, a two wire to four-wire equipment is used and if the control office is in the electrified section and extends beyond the electrified section a four wire to two-wire equipment is used.
