Carborundum universal ltd, a flagship company of marugappa group offers a wide range of electro minerals. As part of these products, the company offers macro grit pink fused alumina. A mixture of pure bayer alumina and chromium oxide is fused in an electric arc furnace at a temperature over 2000?c to produce pink fused alumina. After heating the mass is cooled by a slow solidification process, which is followed by crushing, cleaning of magnetic impurities and classification into narrow size fractions for end use. Macro grit pink fused alumina is used for grinding of tool steels and highly sensitive and high temperature stable steels.
