Stop rust-av is specially formulated for temporary rust prevention in the metal finishing industries where processing of iron and steel products are done, treatment with stop rust is done after sand blasting, pickling or metal stripping. The application is so simple that sophisticated equipment is not required. It provides in plant protection upto one month depending on the corrosive atmosphere, after prolonged tests of this compound it was observed that in some places, where humidity is quite low unlike sea shores, the treated parts were protected for periods upto 3 months. It was also observed that the life of finishing coat like rust preventive oil was increased.
