Water Level cum Salinity Indicator is a simple and portable instrument which is capable of indicating water levels as well as approximate salinity [total dissolved salts in ppm] in borewells / tube wells and open wells. Water Level cum Salinity Indicator consists of a flexible sensor at the end of calibrated cable wounded on a winch when the sensor is just immersed in the water, the panel meter on the side compartment of the winch gives a deflection proportional to the salinity of the water. This instrument also gives a beeping sound, the frequency of which depends on the salinity of water. The depth of the water table can be measured on the calibrated cable.
