Finepac structures offers structured packing, made from sheet metal and woven wire mesh. Different from conventional random packing, structured packing are made from metal sheets, punched and corrugated, assembled vertically to make a form of slab of 8" ht to suit the diameter of a column in which it is to be installed. Such packing slabs are stacked to reach predetermined bed ht of the column. The honey comb type structure of structured packing has a very high mass transfer area. The embossed, corrugated metal sheet has a special turbulent rippling effect on its sliding surface, enhancing the mass transfer performance between vapour and liquid traffic. Such an arrangement of corrugated sheet lead to thorough mixing of vapour and liquid for enhancement of mass transfer effect. The honey comb type structure offers minimum pressure drop across the packing. Finepac structured packing offers multifold benefits compared to conventional distillation columns.
