Finepac structures offers sheet metal structured packings. These are available in specific mass transfer surface areas [sq.M/cu.M] of 250, 350, 500 and 750. Materials of construction: sheet metal ss 304, ss 316, ss 316l, etc. Application: ranging from laboratory columns to large scale process systems, close boiling components distillation, high vacuum process columns, solvent recovery, and azeotropic distillation. These are suitable for both batch and continuous distillation systems. Salient features: high mass transfer surface area; high efficiency leading to shorter columns; regular structure, no channeling of liquid, minimum need of frequent liquid redistribution; no movement in the bed at high hydraulic loads and hence no mutilation of packing material; high void volume in the packing bed, very low pressure drop, highly recommended for vacuum distillation systems; higher vapour load capacity compared to random packing and trays - low liquid hold-up, low pressure drop; and negligible foaming compared to random packing and trays.
