Reynold is now offering centrifugal chillers starting at a capacity of only 75 tr. Though the capital cost is marginally more than the screw chiller of equivalent size, the power consumption is very low and between 0.5 kw per tr to 0.6 kw per tr depending on the load conditions. In fact in part load the power consumption could be as low as 0.4 kw per tr. Water cooled centrifugal chillers are currently offered in only 400 volt ac / 50 hz specifications with water-cooled condensers with a cooling water temperature of upto [+] 35°c at inlet.
