Amar equipments supplies pressure leaf filters that consist of vertical mild steel/ss vessel with a number of vertical stainless steel filter leaves. Since both sides of the leaves are used for filtering, a large filtration area is obtain in a relatively small vessel. Filtration is done with filter aid. Oil chemical slurry is pumped into the filters. A filtering layer of fi8 aid is formed on the leaves and the filtration starts. The filter & oil/chemical is taken to the outlets through manifolds. Solid accumulates on the filter leaves and thick cakes are formed. When the pressure reaches 3-3.5 kg/m sq, the filtration is to be stopped. The cake is dried with steam/ air and discharged by mechanical/ pneumatic vibrators through large sized bottom outlets and hence no opening of the filters is required for cleaning of the leaves. Rate of the filtration is very high. Oil/chemical retention in the filter cake is very low. The operating vessel is close and compact, so operation is very clean. The filters are available in sizes of 5 m sq to 40 m sq area.
