These inverter drives provide an infinitely variable speed adjustment from zero to full rated speed operating from the normal ac single phase up to 3 hp and three phase 415 v 50 hz from 3 to 100 hp. A variable frequency inverter power source as an adjustable speed system has been employed to control ac induction motors, since the ac motor speed is determined by the power source frequency. These controllers are available in capacities from 0.75 to 100 kw, chassis mounted and industrial enclosure.
