These side trimming machines are efficient and suitable for side trimming of single or long blocks reducing work time and offer digital control over the thickness of sides to be removed. The machine is available with salient construction features including two vertical cutters in left-right arrangement which can be moved in-out with respect to one another; grippers to guide foam block during cutting; belt conveyor to drive the foam block; motorized in-out adjustable vertical cutters; motorized in-out adjustment of grippers on either side; belt conveyor with variable frequency drive; motorized sharpening of blades with dust collectors; control panel with push buttons and indication meters; digital indication of distance of blades from the center; digital indication of the position of the grippers; forward reverse movement of the belt conveyor; motorized up-down movement of knife guides; selection between individual or synchronized movement of cutter in-out function as well as grippers; and emergency stop push button for safety.
