Amolik precision machines has manufactured flat lapping machines suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous parts. The machine is custom-built and hence comes in lapping disc diameter from 100 mm to 1,500 mm. Special alloy cast iron lapping disc provides longer life and better lapped surfaces. The conditioning rings are guided by two hardened and tempered guide-rolls mounted on precision ball bearings. The main spindle is rigidly mounted on precision angular contact spindle bearings with standard pre-loading. Accessories include tank for oil and lapping compounds, timers and dressing unit for dressing the lapping disc. Parallelism and flatness between 2 and 5 microns can be achieved easily on production basis. The machine can handle small specimens, die-plates, dies, punches, thrust washers, spacers, valve plates, contact points, mechanical seals, metallic, ceramic magnetic and non-magnetic parts, and extremely thin [0.2 mm] cutters can be lapped to desired accuracy and finish. The machine is also useful for tool-room applications.
