Mazda limited offers spring cylinder positioning actuators which is a powerful high performance pneumatic unit for positive throttling or on-off operation for automatic control valves.
The positioning actuators are available with cylinder and positioner for 150 psi pressure supply making very high thrusts attainable in small compact unit. This positioning actuators are field reversible for air-to-open or air-to-close action without additional parts where a spring provides fail-safe operation. The positioner of these actuators supply air to both sides of the piston providing stiff, precise movement with high frequency response. This positioning actuators give uniform response linearly within +/- 1.5 % by the cylinder to single changes from controller and unaffected by decreasing or increasing pressures.
These positioning actuators operate in a high speed with no overshoot when approaching final plug position. The mazda spring cylinder actuators can provide higher thrust comparable to diaphragm actuators and also do not require springs for positioning. The spring serves only as failsafe device.
