Warner-tourco france introduces torque limiters. The objective is to assure efficient protection of man and machine against momentary overload condition. A torque limiter is a mechanical protection device, which when overload happens, the load separates from the drive. The torque limiter should be installed as close as possible to the source of overload. The various torque limiters available are: friction principle based, with or without elastic coupling, multiple friction disc units for dry or wet running operation and ball detent torque limiter. For torque limiter with balls, there is an optional limit switch which can give signal to the main drive to stop, in case of overload. For torque limiter with rollers, after overload condition is removed, torque is established in the exactly same angular position, ie, after 360° rotation. Depending on the series, the torque limiter torque range is from 5 nm to 6,800 nm and 5 nm to 25,600 nm. Application areas are: packaging line, textile looms, and machine tools.
