The spss 038 is an all position contact electrode for high productivity welding of mild steel. It has the following salient features:

• The spss 038 has an alloy basis of chromium & nickel

• Corrosion and scale resistant deposit with low carbon content [< 0.04%].

• Easy arc striking.

• Flat shining bead, free from intergranular corrosion.

• Crack resistibility is excellent and intergranular corrosion resistivity is superior.

• Provides good corrosion resistance.

• It has a uts of 60 kfg/mm & elongation of 45%


Used for welding austenitic stainless steels. Also for welding 18/8 type stainless steel used in chemical plants, food industries, hospital equipment, etc.
