Formaldehyde - the first member of the aldehyde group is marketed as an aqueous solution with 37percent aldehyde contents with sufficient methanol to prevent its precipitation as polymer. Used in urea formaldehyde resins for- moulding, wet strength paper, textile adhesive: phenol/ melamine formaldehyde resins for- moulding. Laminates and coating; explosives, pentacrythritol - coating, resins; polymethecrylates-sheets for signs, leather tanning; paraformaldehyde; hexamethylene tetramine; scientific use in laboratories.
