| Duff norton, usa, manufactures a wide range of mechanical actuators, supplied by track parts corporation. The product range consists of machine screw and ball screw actuators useful for loads from 1/4 to 250-t, stainless steel machine screw actuators, micro-miniature actuators, and high duty cycle actuators. Duff norton machine screw and ball screw actuators are usable in a single actuator arrangement or in a multiple actuator arrangement along with a complete line of accessories to give for a mechanically interconnected and permanently synchronized system. With readily available duff norton accessories, connecting shafts can be coupled to the actuator, gearboxes can provide for the rotation and connection for a multiple actuator arrangement, and limit switches are usable to limit travel and provide for an up stop and down stop. The machine screw actuators facilitate positive mechanical action, precise positioning and uniform lifting speeds. Standard configurations include upright or inverted units with translating or rotating lifting screws and top p ate, duraded or clevis ends. Ibe anti-backlash option reduces vertical backlash resulting in smooth, precise operation and minimal wear. Duff norton stainless steel actuators include all standard features and are usable in severe environments where other materials are inadequate. All exposed surfaces are made of ss 316 including the lifting screw, housing, and shell cap. Anti-badklash and keyed lifting screws for translating screw models are also available as an option. The ball screw actuators provide high efficiency and high speed in one linear positioning package. The positive action of low friction ball screw and nut design provides longer life at load and requires less power to achieve or specified thrust. Ball screw actuators are usable individually in tandem or as part of a longer mechanical system. With lifts up to 20 feet, ball screw actuators offer the perfect solution to many linear positioning applications. High duty cycle actuators are specifically designed for continuous operation. The gear set operates in an oil bath for thermal efficiency and long life. With rated load capacities up to 13,000 pounds and mechanical efficiency as high as 70%, high duty cycle actuators provide efficient, continuous service. Duff norton micro miniature actuators actuate up to 1000 pounds, enable for extremely fine adjustment and are corrosion resistant. They are desgined with anti-backlash nuts to minimise vertical backlash between the screw and worm gear nut. It has simple manual operation with an easy to use hand knob. Metric actuators come in sizes from 10 km through 980 km. These have metric bearings with metric bolt centres. The metric screw diameters have trapezoidal threads and all fasteners are metric. Duff norton mechanical actuators are used in various applications, from the steel and paper industries for roll adjusting to the aluminium industry for adjusting anode arrangements, to the satellite communication industry for precise positioning on earth station antennas.
